transitions....

It is with a feeling of reminiscence that I write this entry...
I'm feeling sentimental, it isnt hard to do - thank you The Waifs for helping with that line!

I feel like I have been in this place before,
a place that is here, and yet not here.
a place that is an ending that hasn't ended yet, a place where the next thing is yet to start.

It is the first time though, that I sit writing about transition with:
country music playing,
the fans on high,
and watching the Broome wind swirling around my compound.
having finished, packing, sorting and culling

everything I have come to own this year (and collected in WA over the past 3 years - who remembers the day I left with 2 suitcases? Would you believe I now have 10 boxes of gear!)
and then scrubbing, cleaning, wiping and preparing
my house for those who will come to call it their Home next year.

Earlier this week I was reading about someone else who is moving, yet again - you can read about it here. And I found my thoughts walking a familiar path;
moving,
again.
again,
moving.

It's funny, in the past few weeks so many have asked me if I going am back home.
home.
home.
home?

I am not sure 'a home' has any meaning for me anymore. Well certainly not in the traditional sense of having A Home. I no longer feel that I actually have A Home that is an accessible, visitable place. Adelaide is a home (as you may know I have shared before), but it is no longer my Home, and hasn't been for some time. Freo is a home but it isn't my Home, but in 2012 it is sure to be.

Home has now become a place where I AM.

Broome is home.
as currently that is where I AM
One that I am sad to be leaving. In fact in the past few years Broome has come to feel more like A Home than anywhere else that I have lived. There is a sense of belonging that I feel here, that has alluded me in the past.
A sense of connectedness,
with myself,
with others
& with the place itself.

Broome has been a place of rest, restoration, enjoyment, freedom, challenges, learning, dancing, a new odd appreciation for 'pop' music, and many many a mango.

walking the tightrope of this transition I feel overwhelmed by the sadness of this year ending,
Yet also I can find a part of me that is becoming excited about what is to come. And the discovery of a new Home - wherever I find myself next.

With love I am wandering on.....
