I wearily arrived back in Perth this morning after 2 weeks in Adelaide.
My day so far has been filled with catching up on lost sleep - from both exam week and the past two weeks, as well as cleaning, unpacking and finding homes for things brought back from my old home...to my new home.
I have spent a lot of time pondering over the last two weeks, if one can have two homes?
Adelaide feels very much like home
in fact the past two weeks probably felt more like home than I wanted them to
I was there long enough for the feeling of "holidays" to melt and to get involved in the nitty gritty of peoples lives again. Mostly this was wonderful - but it does make it hard to leave
Perth feels very much like home
Being picked up from the airport in the middle of the night by a friend, feels like home
Walking into my room i breathed a sigh of relief and it too feels like home, like my room, my place, my sanctuary. (and Jesse you will be pleased to know that Study still seems to be a sleep under my desk...but something tells me He will wake up tonight!)
It enabled me to reconnect with people I love, admire, cherish and find shared strength with.
I
laughed a lot
danced
cried (a lot - especially at the love shared by Chessy who are so precious to me and with the Wilbys and for that I am deeply grateful)
rocked many a baby to sleep
cuddled many a baby
I was spoilt (by parents, and by dear friends!)
ate great food
explored the markets
planned wedding festivities
spoilt a dear friend
got all my appointments out of the way
talked over the deep things of life
avoided talking over the deep things of life and just mucked around
faced some fears, took a deep breath and got honest
avoided some fears but am walking towards them
drank lots of coffee and french earl grey tea
saw van she!!
celebrated the new things of life with old friends
slept in my old soft big bed
spent the night up with good friends
found healling
missed the routine of study
missed my new Perth friends and family
shared warm times with my ma
I shared my heart and had my heart shared...
I return to Perth excited about life, I love diversity and that my heart can be found and held in two cities, both vastly different but precious to me.
You are definitely missed Bicks! ;)
