Two.
Two seems to be a significant number for me today as I sit and write this...
Its been two weeks since I sat down and made an entry on here.
Also two very important people came to visit me over the past five days - my parents! What a lovely time we had too! I showed them around Freo when I had the time, meaning that study was forgone for a few days, but that is probably good to remind me that I am also a human. We also went to Kulcha and watched my Perth family perform at Paul Gioia's CD launch, which was a really special evening filled with wonderful music. We found the time to visit Kings park and see the city from another point of view, as well as take a walk among the wildflowers that are out in the park at the moment. If you havent had a chance to go yet, and you live in Perth, it is so worth the time - the flowers are just gorgeous and it's also good for your soul to get some sun.
Two weeks of my psychiatry rotation have passed, leaving me with another two to complete, on my rotation on which there are two of us, Bash and I. I have two assessments left to complete before I have completed my last medical school professional portfolio. I have two long cases to hand in and two minicex to complete. AND after today I will have only two mondays left of university lectures!
Life looks pretty good right now, today is sunny, thats two sunny Perth days in a row and my anxiety levels about exams are moderate on the amy-anxiety-exam scale - not too bad all things considered. I have made my study plan for the week and it appears achievable at this stage and I have plans to hangout with a variety of friends throughout the week to celebrate my birthday week. I am currently enjoying living in two homes as well...one being my cute, little, old white and greenie and the other being the university medical school library! But that simply goes with the "I have four weeks left" territory!
The lasts and second to lasts are starting to pile up now.
Last week I paid my last lot of rent in WA, and I have just another four weeks (thats two plus two) left in the house that I have been calling and considering home for the past 9 months. sigh. for times they are a-changing.
Hopefully I also went into Fremantle Hospital for the last time as a medical student, I went to get two forms signed (again), for my audit [again - and I know what you'll say, isnt that suposed to be finished? well yes I thought It was, but unfortunately I (along with about 20 others) had not correctly filled in a particular form] And so, I think I may have gone into Fremantle Hospital for the last time...until I go again!
This week also I get to experience my last few days (two plus two actually) of being 25, as my birthday is nearing (thats two times I've mentioned it this blog!). Another year older, again. I guess thats just the way things roll. Had I imagined my life 10 years ago looking like this? Not at all, but for the most part I am glad that it does look the way it does - at least we can all be thankful that I didnt have the same "it's my birthday again" crisis as I did last year. 26 is kind of a not-much-changes number.
Okay, I think that is all the two's I can pull out and that you too can bare with today.
If I play my cards right there will just be two weeks of placement left for me!
Amy Xx
