It is 1.36 in the afternoon, the day before my second end of year exam.
Tomorrow's exam is the one I have been dreading, our written paper.
I dont exactly know why I dread it, other than understanding that tomorrow I may possibly be asked to write about concepts I havent fully grappled with, or answer questions that I simply know that I do not know the answer to.
And in all honesty, that is a little daunting....
instead of studying for this exam, I find my mind wandering through holiday plans, imagining the scenery of Halls Creek and what I will be doing this time next week (most likely waiting for a Bus in Kununurra)
I have also discovered that I am not a very good crammer...I struggle to spend the last few hours before an exam studying, as I feel that it is now too late to improve. Actually, I have more of a mixed feeling, when I try to read I feel like its not going in, yet when I attempt to answer a question and do not know the answer, I am struck again by the reality that I may indeed have to attempt to cram, to keep that information in my head.
See my pickle?
My mind is also walking through this year, and thinking about how quickly, yet how all very much too slowly this year has progressed. On one hand I cant believe that in less than a week now I would have finished my second year of Med and will be HALF WAY!
And on the other, I feel like it has taken me an eternity to get here...
But I think the latter though prevails. The journey to half way has gone very fast, all too soon I will be hit with the reality of being expected to know what to do, or how to interact or what may be wrong with someone, or at least be able to do all of the right things to begin to work that out.
I feel like an infant in many ways, As soon as something feels remotely comfortable, I am thrown into a new circumstance that I dont exactly know how to deal with just as I have begun (and not even mastered) the art of crawling.
With the end of 2nd year, also ends my time in Freo for a while. Next year I will be living in Broome and discovering what life is like there for others, and for myself. At the moment the idea of moving feels more exciting than daunting, but I do wonder if the pendulum will swing the other way closer to the moving date. All of my thoughts to next year still seem so far off, as I am yet to finish these exams off. And before I will have a chance to really ponder what the new change may mean, I will find myself in the unknowns of Halls Creek and then for some respite, the familiarity of family and friends in Adelaide.
just a couple of hurdles now.....
