neuroastronomy

the human brain

makes very little sense to me.

100's billions of neurons (like the number of universes in the galaxy, supposedly)
Cell bodies, axons connected to one another (holding hands) sharing information, fast (covered in fat = myelinated) and slow (skinny, weedy little things).  Surrounded by support cells (much like the physios of a football team) making sure all the cells are well, and not limping - no one really wants a slow cell.
Connecting, redirecting, integrating, synthesising, sharing all of that which surrounds me and somehow in the mess of cells my brain as I know it (thoughts, feelings, inner monologue, memories, my sense of self) is found.
Apparently at age 12 the corpus callosum (connection) between both sides of our brains is fully fat covered and this enables to 'get things', understand jokes, concepts, witt and from age 25 our brains are in decline - oh dear!
One year left to get to my peak....no pressure!

the human brain makes little sense to those around me

(as one of my fellow students lecture notes page shows us)

I wish that my brain cells would like to hold hands with each other, and kindly include my uni work in their circle of friendship...
sometimes I must be lead to wonder if my corpus callosum is fully myelinated....and those who have included me in their jokes, may also ask the same question...

the more I read, this I know

the human brain makes little sense . . .
