new beginings

Well after a weekend of many hands packing, cleaning, lifting, shifting, carrying, unpacking, retidying, sorting and settling in the W house has moved!

I guess that isnt technally true...the W house girls moved one street across and three blocks down from where we were (and gained a member!) into a new house...a beautiful eco friendly blue house.

Oh pretty blue house...

as much as I love our new house and it feels surprisingly like home...
moving was SUCH a pain!

I am glad that we dont have to do that process again for a whole year... I feel like my life has been in complete chaos, disorder and up in the air since I packed all of my things into bags and boxes last week.

It is amazing how that can throw you, seriously...study has gone out the window
(Jesse...I think I might have lost him in the move...He better be able to find my new place..otherwise I could be in big trouble!!!)
everything that usually creates order in my week seems to have dissapeared!

And with moving comes unpacking and redesigning my living space, which I could do to no end - but I must find an end for it, as there is study to be done and routine to be found again.

But with moving also comes - new furniture (new to me furniture) a stunning big desk found for $10, old brass lamps found for $3 and $10... a stunning blue suitcase, which is now my bedside table of sorts. New spots on new walls for posters...new little vases, and little touches that make my new room feel like home.

And its exciting to have a new house mate in Mon! It will be fun to be four again and to share our home with our friends over the coming year!

--------------------------

so how is the rest of life?

--------------------------

The weekend before last I spent my birthday in Adelaide! Oh so refreshing to spend decent amounts of time with friends and family. I am so thankful to all my friends who shared this time with me (and even made the effort to drive up into the hills to visit me). I really appreciate those moments at home, where everyone feels familiar and it is easy just to sit, breathe, share, cry, laugh, celebrate and eat cake :)
and the 'once off moments' like sharing the party bus going around Adelaide with 40 other women (and several not so shy waiters) celebrating close friends about to be wed.

I also got to see my grandparents whilst I was back home, all of which have been a little unwell. I never realised how difficult it would be to be away from my family when they are unwell. Particularly as I want to be able to care for them and find out what is going on Re their health from the doctors and those who are able to care for them. I really struggled to be in Perth in the days leading up to going home knowing that they were unwell and there was nothing I could do about it.
I know that even if I was at home, there would still be nothing I could do to help them get better, other than be there, and offer a hug, a smile and a listening ear - which is what I got to do on my brithday, what a great way to spend the day - with family who I love dearly.

Unlike last time, leaving Adelaide was easy...maybe it is because I know I would be back in a month? (which is now only really 2.5 weeks) But also because Perth really does feel like home now too and I missed it!

I love my house (and housemates) and my friends, and even (when you catch me at a good moment, like interviews for next years students) my uni and my degree!!
(and somewhere always feels like home when you are picked up from the airport by a friend at midnight with a travel mug filled with roobus tea - oh Kerstin you know me all too well!!)

well I think that is a decent amy update...plus I should actually be learning about the brain right now...so I better get back to it :)

Xx
