sunshine oh drug of mine

today has been a totally stunning day. The sun has shone.

every now and then I have a day off of uni - yes it is probably meant to be spent studying, but I say it should also sometimes be spent doing things you love, doing things that make you come alive, rejuvenating yourself so that you can make it through to the next fateful day that you have a whole day off of uni!

I woke up this morning at 10.30am - shameful I know, but it felt so good to stay up past my bed time of 10pm last night and to watch Arrested Development until half 12. I then showered and saw the outside world was all blue sky and sunshine, so dressed in flowy skirt and tank tee I ventured out into my garden that has been pretty boggy with all the rain. I took on the towering thistles and won :) and discovered my rhubarb is almost ready to be eaten (yay for apple and rhubarb pie soon), and my beetroots are almost popping their heads out of the soil - looks like they too come alive in the sunshine. I potted and weeded and cleared the garden until my feet and hands were blackened by the rich soil. hmm, sunshine on my face whilst gardening in a cool breeze...bliss.

I have pottered my day away; cleaned, washed, shopped, frolicked in spotlight, spent time with my housies and am now about to go kick the turtles butts on the field in our 'friendly freo med 100 kids' weekly soccer game! And I've smiled ( a lot )

Sunshine makes me come alive, something about its warmth and pervasiveness. It warmed my face and my heart today has simply been a

delight.
