its 10pm and about half an hour past my usual bed time,
i am stuffed but still have at least 3 days worth of lecture and prac notes to print out,
and i have to hang out my washing.
tomorrow will be the middle of week four and it is a day with 3 lectures, all of which are not useful for uni material, rather for uni itself and i have a big 6 hour break in the middle of the day, well maybe not 6 hours but close! I have so much study to do, biochemistry and pharmacokinetics (central to this weeks PBL) do not even hit my radar of understanding, so i feel like this is going to be a slog. The day will start at uni at 8.30, so it will start 2 hours earlier for me, at least.
This is so different to the leisurly pace at which i lived just only 6 weeks ago when my life was basically an ongoing holiday and an early night was before 4 in the morning.
The weekend was repreive from my scattered and slightly freaked out state after fridays 9 hours of lectures and seriously over half of them went straight over my head! I slept in till 9.30am (a big sleep in these days with my body clock used to the early rises) and went to a party on saturday which was fun and spend a lazy day at the beach on sunday, which was just lovely. It certainly gave me time to sit and chat with friends and reflect about what life has been like and ponder about the future.
I think i have decided getting to know people is fun, but i also discovered that i dont have as much courage when it comes to talking about me as i thought i would, i still get a bit uncomfortable and awkward with deep questions at times, but its good to push through and share with new friends - who knows what these friendships will mean to me over the coming years. It is certainly the friends that make the copious load of study doable, we will help each other through i am sure.
I know it sounds like I am a huge complainer, even though there is stax of work
I love it,
i really feel pushed and challenged and I am enjoying the fact that it is what i thought it would be and i really do like medicine - its just the work i dont like, but heck thats a normal response! It is still exciting to be in Perth, everywhere is new and everyweekend turns into an adventure with no car, and trains not always doing what they say they will - (both old and new) friends have been helpful in adventuring this city and keeping me sane.
updates to come to be sure.
xx
Keeping you sane? You were never sane in the first place ;) I'm glad you are crazy though - there's strength in numbers xo
