* been to the Kimberley again. Discovering, yet again, the life and fullness of country living. I really enjoyed my weekends in Derby and Broome as well as my two weeks of working in the Emergency Department of Halls Creek Hospital.
* finished my first and last surgical placement as a medical student
* discovered that I will more than likely never become an Intensive Care Physician...my exam results came back, and I passed everything well...except for Intensive Care...which I still passed!
* discovered Instagram...oh no, let the photos flow
* finished reading a book for fun. I finished reading 'Half the Sky', a book that tells the stories of women from around the world, particularly the plight of women in childbirth and those trapped in slave trade. It wasn't an easy book to read. Filled with the reminders of just how fortunate we are, and how I do not often enough remember that.
* had my most expensive weekly shop in at least a year, spending $60 instead of my weekly $20
* played many a game of peek-a-boo, on the wards of Perth's children's hospital. Reminding me that I much more enjoy playing games with children than I do giving them needles, or medicines.
* waited and waited and waited for the day which comes tomorrow. . . Western Australian job offers for Interns in 2013 come out tomorrow. Hopefully offers for the NT come out tomorrow too. . . If not, I may have to wait until August 8 - just as I do for my Adelaide offers. . . and so we wait, until tomorrow comes.
Xx
Good luck for offers- if they only knew you they'd be lining up to have you- you will be (already are)such a great doctor.
ReplyDeletePS- $20 groceries/week- how do you manage that?!
I sacrifice big time on my food love affair to spend so little. Particularly on fruit, and basically no processed foods, or snack foods - choosing instead to make my own snack foods - which I think is why this shop was a bit exy, as I bought baking supplies, as well as laundry/cleaning needs. I was also out of all pasta/rice/butter/soymilk/cheese basics - and so replenished supplies. Today I also made enough Cannelloni to get me through the whole week, so I'll freeze heaps in the hope to not have to spend much at all next week on groceries! (I also eat out, probably one night a week, and various lunches - so that is not included in the count!)
ReplyDeleteWill let you know about the job when I know!

Amazingly wonderful and loveable Amy, Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteYour writing is filled with beauty and seems to capture a piece of whats truly going on in the world of Amy. Thanks for always inspiring me.
On the note of laundry needs, have you heard of soap nuts? They are a natural product which you just throw into the washing machine, no other detergents required. Cheap, organic and rad. :)
Good luck with your offers.
My thoughts and prayers are with you often, precious Bonsai.
