I was procrastinating this afternoon and wanted to look at the features on my camera, so I wandered down to town beach.
As I walked down I saw
Its hot today in Broome and catching a cool spot is a wise idea in the afternoon,
and it was here under this tree at town beach
that I met Ashley and Lisa O.
They are from Mowanjum, a community outside of Derby, some 220kms north east(ish) of Broome. Currently experiencing flooding, from the Fitzroy River Delta
We had a lovely chat under the tree pictured above. I was reminded of the heart of this land, the beauty and the struggle of those who live here, against so many forces outside of their control. Yet a great sense of connectedness to the land, culture, spirituality, and that this even extended to me....
